Mayor Anthony L. Deluca

Message from Mayor Anthony L. DeLuca

2009 was a sad year for the Municipality of Penn Hills with the tragic loss of Officer Michael Crawshaw. The Community bounded together in an outpouring of sympathy and support for the family and for the Penn Hills Police Officers. We need to continue to use this strength and sense of community to honor Officer Crawshaw by striving to make Penn Hills a better place to live and work. The year 2010 is a time to move forward, but before we can move forward we need to know the accomplishments that our community has come to realize over the past several years.

  • William E. Anderson Library of Penn Hills.
  • One tax collector system within the Municipality.
  • Coming out from under the Federal Consent Decree and now working under a Consent Order and Agreement.
  • Restructuring the sewer debt to a more manageable debt service, which in turn allowed for the reduction of the customer sewer service fee and also making available funds for treatment plant improvements.
  • Being fiduciary responsible to the residents by presenting balanced budgets and staying within spending limits.
  • Entering into agreements with the water companies to collect sewage charges.

Along with my fellow elected officials I will continue to work for community development to enhance future businesses which in turn will result in jobs for our citizens. We are also committed to working with all members of our public safety sector to ensure that residents have the safest quality of life available. As we move forward as a community I hope that we can all take the path of cooperation. We must work for the betterment of the entire community, and as Mayor I will continue to do that. Residents of our community have strength and a sense of community so I encourage residents to become active in the community and work to make Penn Hills a great place to live and to work.

If you have an idea, question, or concern, you can e-mail me at Mayor@PennHills.org; I will be glad to hear from you and I will do my best to answer questions and address your concerns.
